Dear Colleague:
Welcome to the LawPartneringSM Institute. In this short introductory message, I want
to share with you why this site exists.
Our mission is to facilitate meaningful change in the legal profession. We
want to restore the high values, personal rewards and career satisfaction that
the practice of law once provided, which today eludes so many members of our profession.
Relevant to this admittedly lofty goal, we are convinced that the growth of strong
partnering relationships between attorneys and their clients will contribute significantly
to the positive changes we seek.
Partnering, as you may know, involves a very different way of doing business.
Partnering relationships are built upon mutual trust and collaborative efforts
to improve the delivery of legal services for the economic benefit of all participating
parties. Aside from the direct economic gains, partnering efforts result in much
stronger personal ties between and among clients and their outside law firms and
vendors. For attorneys who are willing to do things differently, learn what it
takes to partner effectively and commit the time and effort needed to succeed,
partnering offers a less stressful, experientially richer and more meaningful
practice. In essence, partnering involves conducting business at a "higher professional
level," with much greater personal rewards and more career satisfaction than is
typically experienced in traditional law firm/client relationships.
For these reasons, we are committed to raising awareness about the wide range
of benefits that partnering has to offer. At the same time, we are working to
dispel the mistaken impressions many attorneys have about this dynamic business
model. To these ends, the LawPartneringSM Institute is committed to providing
the most up-to-date information and resources needed for law departments, law
firms and legal support services providers to initiate and build successful partnering
relationships.
Corporate counsel, attorneys in private practice and other professionals across
the country are responding enthusiastically to our Institute's mission. Many are
contributing their expertise, as well as technological and financial support,
to further strengthen our curriculum and bolster the value of this resource to
our members.
We welcome your interest in the LawPartneringSM Institute. If you have
not already done so, please take a moment now to register as a member. I encourage
you to visit our site frequently, participate regularly in our Discussion Forums,

facilitate meaningful change in the legal profession.
Sincerely,
Peter C. Jenkins, Esq.
