The Learning Center is the educational hub of the LawPartneringSM Institute.

  • Through the Learning Center, you'll have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other members about the dynamics, benefits and challenges of lawpartnering arrangements.

  • You're welcome to monitor or participate in online Discussion Forums dedicated to specific lawpartnering strategies and tactics, moderated by experienced law department and law firm leaders. Topics include creating partnering networks, leading partnering initiatives, reengineering legal work processes, cost-efficiency and reduction programs, alternative billing methods, how technology facilitates partnering relationships and measuring the success of lawpartnering programs. A special forum is provided where you can get quick answers to partnering problems.

  • Discussion groups are also offered where you can explore partnering issues from both legal administration and law firm marketing perspectives.

  • From our case studies, you'll learn how partnering arrangements operate in a variety of situations with companies having different legal services needs.

  • A Member Lounge is available for informal networking with other attorneys and professionals interested in the benefits of partnering relationships. If desired, you can request a private meeting room where you and other members can talk about lawpartnering issues relating to your department's or law firm's specific concerns.

  • Also, through the Learning Center, you'll have access to unique lawpartnering seminars, workshops and training programs hosted by the LawPartneringSM Institute online.

Library

The Library offers a growing resource of partnering information.

  • In the Library, you'll find an extensive bibliography of articles and papers on partnering strategies and tactics, a comprehensive online LawPartnering Manual and Implementation Guidelines and a variety of sample documents that facilitate partnering arrangements.

  • Checklists and guidelines are available to help you educate your colleagues, determine whether partnering is right for your law department or firm, assess your organization's partnering potential, evaluate prospective partners and initiate strong partnering relationships.

  • Over time, the online dialogue among members in our Discussion Forums will become an invaluable reference for information regarding various lawpartnering arrangements, strategies and tactics. The Library will maintain a searchable Archive of this important information for use exclusively by Institute members.

Resource Office

As companies and law firms seek the advantages of partnering arrangements, there is value in identifying law departments and legal service providers that understand partnering principles and are committed to building strong, mutually-beneficial, collaborative relationships. Much time and effort can be saved in screening prospective partners and avoiding false starts by choosing to do business with companies and firms that respect what partnering is all about, train their professionals to work effectively in teams and can demonstrate a positive track-record.

The LawPartneringSM Institute is designing an objective partnering capabilities and skills evaluation and referral process and will strive to become this trusted resource for its members.

  • At the Resource Office, you'll find lists of law departments and law firms that have significant experience in lawpartnering arrangements, as well as lists of consultants and vendors whose products and services facilitate partnering relationships.

  • The Resource Office also maintains a listing of other useful online resources relevant to partnering and related subjects.
